HMJDS Happenings

Re-Enrollment Packages to be Mailed Soon

Re-enrollment packages will be sent out via US mail to all current families early next week!  Signed forms and a $600 deposit per child will be due to HMJDS by March 5, one week after school resumes from Mid-Winter Break, to secure a spot for the 2010-11 school year. Families who applied for financial consideration through SSS online will receive preliminary financial assistance packages with their re-enrollment forms. Our Board remains committed to meeting each family’s needs. If you have any questions or concerns--academic, social, financial, or spiritual--about re-enrolling your child, please reach out to Ray, Abbe, or the member of our Administrative Team with whom you feel most comfortable. Please be sure to speak with us before actively considering other school options. During these unique times, we want to be able to provide maximum stability for your child(ren).

In the spirit of our commitment to being a school for the whole family, you are invited to experience first-hand a snapshot of learning, “HMJDS-style.” Mini-classes led by students, faculty, and administrators will give you a taste of classroom instruction strategies and styles across the curriculum. All sessions will be held from 8:15 to 9:15, right after morning drop-off. Space is limited to approximately 20 parents per class.

It’s easy to RSVP for all events through the interactive calendar on our website. Just go to the date of the class you’re interested in, click on the event listing, and click “Sign Up.” You can also RSVP by contacting Ethan Tarshish, Admissions Assistant, at 952.381.3506 or etarshish@HeilicherJDS.org.

A limited number of spaces is available in each class so RSVP early--we look forward to seeing you there!

We're Hungry for Your Feedback! HMJDS Dining Room Survey Coming Soon

Next week all HMJDS parents will be receiving an email via Constant Contact (the same distribution mechanism that brings you Kesher) an HMJDS Dining Room Survey.  Please take the time to fill the survey out and share with us your opinions on the lunch program.

Developed in conjunction with Taher Food Service, the Healthy Eating Initiative Committee and Day School administrators, the survey is designed to help us understand how and why families make lunch purchasing decisions at HMJDS.  We know many families see our Dining Room program as a benefit—and we want to continue to serve (no pun intended) all of our students in the best ways possible.

The survey will remain open for two weeks after initial distribution.  Upper School students will take the survey during the school day. Thank you in advance for your time in filling out the survey.  We will share the data we collect with you in a future Kesher issue.
