Welcome to the Amos and Celia Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School!

As you view the images and words that represent some of the many facets of our school, we encourage you to think about the community that we create at the Day School.  We are a community that is committed to living our Jewish core values and making those statements, drawn from our traditional texts, the central pillars in our treatment of members in the Day School community.  We seek to make the Day School a comfortable environment for anyone who wishes to share in our vision and is willing to grow spiritually in an environment that encourages strengthening one’s own participation while respecting the practices and choices of others.

The Day School feels a responsibility to create opportunities for our students to encounter other faith traditions. They also experience a variety of perspectives and approaches to texts and practices within the spectrum of Jewish belief. As a community day school, we feel the best approach to the richness of Jewish life must make the community as inclusive as possible. “All Jews are responsible for each other” and a reminder that “we were strangers in the land of Egypt” compel us to create a community that teaches social action and service—in our Jewish community and in the larger world around us.

Joining together as a community enables us to support students and families in times of joy and crisis.  We hope you explore all the Day School community has to offer your child and yourselves.

B’shalom,
